New track records have been set with Carbirs at numerous tracks since its introduction. In 1997, its first year of competition, Jeff Glenn took a Carbir to the ACRL (American City Racing League) Championship. In 1998, a mid-field competitor switched to a Carbir and immediately captured his first pole and went on to win his first professional race. In club racing, John Fergus set new track records at several tracks and won the 1999 National Championship. At the 2000 ACRL double race event at Mid Ohio, two different drivers in Carbirs earned two poles, two wins, and set new race and qualifying records. John Fergus won the 2000 East Coast ACRL Championship after setting many new race and qualifying records during the season. In the West Coast ACRL, Fiorenzo Tirinnanzi was in title contention right up to the last rae.

In 2001, Carbirs continued to set new track records while dominating the ACRL Series and adding to the score of National victories. Enroute to claiming the 2001 SCCA National Championship, three Carbirs entered the June Sprints and ran away from rest of the field. Seven different Carbir drivers won 9 of the last 12 ACRL events. In addition to claiming victory at the season finale enduro, Carbirs claimed 4 of the top 5 finishing positions at the last three regular season ACRL events.
